Grand River Environmental Action Team
Due to Covid-19 and the very low water levels in the Grand River the May 8, 2021 paddle has been changed to Vineyard Lake. The put in will be at the Vineyard Lake County Park located 2 miles East of Brooklyn on North Drive which runs South off from Highway M-124. Vineyard Lake, which is the headwaters of the River Raisin is 505 acres in size, has lots of sections of natural and undeveloped shoreline with many bays and channels to explore. Please arrive at the County Park by 9:45 a.m. for registration and you can email GREAT at firstname.lastname@example.org or call GREAT at 517-416-4234 to reserve a canoe or a kayak. All paddle events are open to the public. To reserve a kayak or canoe (no charge) and to check trip status due to weather, call GREAT 517 416-4234 or check http://www.great-mi.org Cancelled trips and clean-up will be rescheduled for the following day, Sunday, unless posted on web otherwise. Waivers must be signed at Put-in. A PFD must be worn at all times. Arrive no later than 9:30 AM for car placement shuttle.
