GREAT's next paddle is at the Winnewana Impoundment in the Waterloo Recreation Area in Northeast Jackson County on Saturday, August 14, 2021. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required and a rustic toilet facility is on site. This 500 acre impoundment has many natural features. Please call the GREAT phone at 517-416-4234 to reserve a canoe or a kayak for this paddle. Plan to arrive at the boat launch off from Roe Road by 9:30 a.m. for registration. Founded in 1990, the Grand River Environmental Action Team is a Local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of and restoration of the Upper River Watershed in the Jackson County of south central Michigan.
