ANNUAL GRAND RIVER CLEANUP
Saturday, September 14, 2024
Noon – 4:00 pm
The location of this year's cleanup is at R.A. Greene Park
Due to construction in the park, the Lansing Avenue entrance will be closed, and you must enter from the back entrance on River Street.
Take Cooper Road (M-106), to the first intersection North of Highway I-94. Turn onto Second Street and head West to the dead end, turning right on River Street. Take River Street North for half a mile to a large gate at entrance to the Park. After driving through the gate turn, left on the first drive you come to, and continue driving West for 600 feet until you reach the Bridge over the Grand River and the staging area for this year's Cleanup.
If you google 2227 River Street, Jackson, MI 49202, it will take you to River Street,
1,200 feet South of the Gate into the Park which is described above.
The Grand River Environmental Action Team (GREAT) needs volunteers for its annual river cleanup. Come join us in doing something GREAT for the river while having fun at the same time!
Assignments can be on land and/or water so dress appropriately for the weather and getting dirty. GREAT has an ample supply of burlap bags, trash bags, and gloves.
If you have a canoe, which can be used, please bring it.
For questions please call 517 513-7504 or email grand@great-mi.org
